Freedom Swim from Robben Island (the famous apartheid era prison that held freedom activists like Nelson Mandela prisoner) to Cape Town.

Last Sunday I promoted a swim that Cheryl Clark, Marius, Katie and Yolanda from Dihlabeng Church, were doing from Robben Island to Cape Town to raise sponsorship for the work they do for vulnerable children among our churches in the Free State and Lesotho.

Thanks to all of you who gave so generously. The amount you gave was £115! There will be more to follow as others have pledged to give at a later date. If you were not there on Sunday and would like to support the work being done out in Africa it is certainly not too late! So well done church! Sorry for the short notice but initially I did not want to feel I was burdening people with yet another 'worthy cause', but I think now that we should take every opportunity to out do each other in the area of giving!

The Apex has proved again and again that we are a generous people and may part of our unique footprint continue to be our reputation for financial generousity. So thanks again and don't forget that every Sunday to come with wallets at the ready!
