Happy new year! Well they said 2010 would be a year leaving us thinking ‘I can’t believe it’ and they were right. Just a few reflections on what God has been doing with us in Cowes include:
- Being blessed with St. Faith’s Church building to use for our services and ministries.
- Spending time together as a church with New Frontiers founder Terry Virgo and his wife Wendy.
- Use of ‘Ocean Venture’ a new 13 berth yacht for the sailing ministry.
- Amazing testimonies from the overseas mission to Bulgaria.
- Street Pastors receiving £1,750 from Isle of Wight Community Action Awards.
Andrew Turner MP and local dignitaries attending our launch service in December.
- And the greatest miracle of all are the lives transformed amongst us and the new Christians worshiping at the Apex.
My "I can't believe this is happening" moment was the handing over of the baton service. At the beginning of 2010, we had no idea this would be part of the Apex's experience by the end of the year.
Paul Ras.
Fancy me making a commitment to God! I'm not one for commitment, well I am a bloke, but last year the Apex led me to my wife, Sue, and this year it led me to God. You can't beat a trip through the Alderney race in the dark with huge waves to make you realise how insignificant we all are yet God has a plan for us, even me! Now we even have a church to meet in. What a year! What will happen next year?
Mike Cox.
It has been an amazing year! Moving into St Faiths is probably the highlight of the year but it has been a memorable year because of the focus of being in a family with other churches and the sense of togetherness and awesome scope and potential of God's church. Going overseas(again!) to Bulgaria and France, starting the foundations course with people from other NF churches and regular visits to the churches of the team I went to Lesotho with, all emphasise that God has innumerable plans for so many people, towns, cities and nations! Life is all about getting caught up with the purposes of God!
John King.
2010? The worst AND best year of my life! 'Worst' because all the things that were wrong in my life came to a climax and very nearly finished me off. 'Best' because I was saved in quite dramatic fashion. If it can happen to little old me, then anyone can experience the amazing power, forgiveness and grace of the Lord. Becoming a Christian is the best thing that has ever happened to me
Paul Jennings.
